I need help settling on a color palette, which one do you prefer? Poll below!

Did a test livestream earlier this afternoon with the latest version of Owncast; it went well! I can see the appeal of doing this to stay motivated with solo gamedev.

This NPR piece suggests that oil-producers would have had a rough year, even without the pandemic. This is *very interesting*. It would be a mistake to celebrate, though: this is a signal that it's time to fight harder.

For the current (third draft), I seem to be able to rewrite one chapter a day. More than that, and I hit diminishing returns. (I need time to subconsciously process stuff, apparently.)

One of these days, I hope to figure out a sane revision process with sane milestones.

For the first draft, it was mostly word count goals. For the second draft, it was.... mostly weird big picture stuff and working out hard problems, but not a lot of writing.

Yay this chapter has been rewritten (and the next couple tweaked accordingly). It is *so* much better now that my characters aren't overcommunicating.

please stop putting your stuff on instagram

you are physically killing me. i wanted to read about the lesbian ants like. a lot

Woke up, went over my most recent draft of this chapter, now sitting down to rework it.

Updated to the latest version of , thinking of doing some livestreaming of other people's games over the weekend. Anyone have a preference?

(Generally want it to be devs I have some kind of connection to, classic or contemporary indie. More suggestions of fedi gamedevs are welcome.)

One advantage of more people on fedi doing livestreaming: more workflows and desktop setups that actually look like my own. :)

Maybe this'll be the weekend I get back to running game. I keep punting because I *want* to prepare this NPC's character out properly, but never dedicate time for it.

I ran through my thoughts on some of the notable games released last year as 2020 concluded. blog.shivoa.net/2020/12/games-

I need to find a fedi group. I've got gamedev friends now and they are awesome, and my tabletop players are great at holding me accountable, but don't know many people doing linear/traditional writing.

normalize understanding that you don’t know shit about shit about strangers online🤪✌️

social media is such a minuscule piece of a person’s whole fucking existence??? drawing hard assumptions about who a person is based solely off of their instagram profile is one of the fucking wildest things you could do and it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever??? normalize doing anything but ... that?????

More footage of Dave recording voice actors for !This time @grundislavgames@twitter.com as Rodrigo.

I would like Ink so much better if inklecate/etc didn't have the awful mono dependency. It's an elegant syntax for nonlinear narratives. but... gaaaah.
